About The Job
We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Database Manager to lead the design, administration, modernization, and operational stability of enterprise database platforms. This role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle databases, advanced SQL performance tuning, AWS cloud environments, and Oracle Financials support.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong production engineering mindset, the ability to solve complex database challenges, and the leadership skills to define and drive a future-ready database strategy. This position is well suited for a technical leader who is equally comfortable with architecture, operational excellence, automation, and mentoring engineering teams.
What You Will Do
Lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of Oracle databases across enterprise environments.
Manage and improve database performance through advanced tuning, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
Own database lifecycle management activities including upgrades, patching, cloning, refreshes, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
Provide support for mission-critical applications and ensure high availability in 24/7 production environments.
Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance system reliability.
Improve incident response processes, reduce mean time to resolution, and lead root cause analysis documentation and preventive action planning.
Establish proactive health checks, performance baselines, and capacity forecasting mechanisms for database platforms.
Lead release readiness reviews from a database stability, reliability, and performance perspective.
Design and manage Oracle workloads on AWS, including RDS and EC2-hosted database environments.
Evaluate and implement modernization opportunities such as managed services, DevOps integration, and cloud optimization strategies.
Mentor database administrators and engineering teams in advanced troubleshooting, production support, and performance engineering practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational maturity, governance, and platform resilience.
Job Requirements And Qualifications
Who You Are
(Education & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
13+ years of strong hands-on experience in Oracle database administration and production database engineering.
Proven experience working in complex enterprise environments with high availability and performance requirements.
Strong Experience Supporting Oracle Financials And Other Business-critical Applications.
Experience working in regulated industries such as Healthcare, Finance, or Insurance will be an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor teams, and influence database strategy and modernization efforts.
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database administration, including versions such as 12c, 19c, and 21c.
Advanced SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN for high availability, backup, and recovery.
Strong knowledge of database lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, refreshes, and capacity planning.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, especially Oracle deployments on RDS and EC2.
Experience in managing and supporting Oracle Financials environments.
Strong understanding of production support models, incident management, and root cause analysis.
Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting for database operations.
Working knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD integration in database environments.
Ability to define scalable, secure, and cost-optimized database architectures in cloud environments.
