About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Cost Estimation Engineer to join our team, specializing in high-precision machining and aerospace-grade components. The role involves evaluating product drawings, defining manufacturing processes, and preparing accurate cost estimates for machining, raw materials, and special processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret product drawings and specifications to define manufacturing requirements.
- Evaluate tolerances, fit, and function to decide optimal processes.
- Estimate costs for CNC machining (3/4/5-axis), turning, turnmill, and general machining.
- Prepare cost analysis for special processes such as CCA, heat treatment, anodizing, painting, etc.
- Identify cost-effective machining sequences and material nesting strategies for optimization.
- Work with aerospace-grade materials (Aluminium, Titanium, Inconel).
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for RFQs including raw materials, machining, special processes, and outsourcing.
- Use software tools like AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and MS Excel for estimation and reporting.
- Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure thorough cost analyses and pricing strategies.
Must-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience in precision machining cost estimation.
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and ability to read technical drawings.
- Experience in CNC milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
- Knowledge of special processes and aerospace materials.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
- Excellent skills in MS Excel for costing and reporting.
- Experience preparing RFQs and detailed cost estimates.
