Position Overview
You will be maintaining oversight of the Employment History Sense Check Team and responsible for their daily operations and adherence to related internal (Compliance/Legal) and external regulatory requirements. You will be required to adequately staff and ensure business continuity across the team (inc. hiring and offboarding where needed). You will be required to ensure operations of the reporting Associates fall within the expected run rate and performance meets expectations.
Responsibilities
In this role you will act as a mediator between the Expert Unit, Compliance team and internal stakeholders and related experts on our books to:
- Policy Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and continuously update internal compliance policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure legal adherence.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor and interpret new and evolving regulatory requirements, communicating potential impacts to senior management and overseeing the implementation of necessary changes.
- Data and Privacy Compliance: Manage compliance with global data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), PIPL and U.S. state privacy laws.
- Third-Party Oversight: Oversee third-party relationships to ensure compliance with our established policies, including requirements for communicating all service changes, honoring ownership requests, and transparently disclosing all management fees to end customers.
- Training & Auditing: Conduct regular compliance training for staff and coordinate internal and external compliance audits, including those related to vulnerability management and security reviews.
- Enforcement: Evaluate potential policy violations, perform necessary reviews, and work with experts to take appropriate action, including addressing serious or repeated negative customer feedback
- Risk Management: Ensure experts that pose immediate Compliance/Legal or Business risk are flagged immediately to the relevant stakeholders
- People Management: Provide support, guidance and leadership to direct reports and related business units. Track, audit and measure performance, providing visibility to the Network Management Lead. Conduct year-end Performance Management assessment of direct reports
- Project Management: Manage related projects to completion and provide insight, support and input to the Expert Business Unit when required
- AI Utilisation: Utilising AI and LLM tools to simplify workflows and improve efficiency
Skills
A successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a regulatory compliance, internal audit, or legal role.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to finance, technology, or data management.
- Experience of designing and implementing AI tools to supplement workflows in a previous work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 2+ years managerial or leadership experience
- Ability to work on a hybrid work-pattern (Office vs. Remote)
- Ability to manage key relationships across a variety of seniorities
- A willingness to get things done and positive attitude even when managing ambiguity
- Ability to handle stringent deadlines/multi-tasking
- Motivated self-starter, organized, detailed-oriented and ability to work independently
