Your New Role

As a Manager, Clinical Medical, you will be a part a highperforming Clinical Medical team, spearhead the creation of the scientific strategy for clinical trial excellence plus translate it into impactful field execution, and strengthen scientific engagement with Principal Investigators and site staff to drive trial outcomes & early portfolio development.

Key responsibilities

1. Deliver industry-leading clinical trial excellence with scientific insights and external engagement

• Partner with Clinical Operations Therapy Area Leads and Trial Managers on scientific and medical aspects of early trial planning, start up, recruitment and retention
• Provide scientific inputs to trial portfolio review, country allocation and site feasibility processes
• Visit the sites in the assigned geography periodically to discuss about the clinical trial conduct, strategies and collect insights from the site staff
• Contribute to site selection criteria, and assess medical capabilities as well as scientific training needs at sites
• Engage relevant key opinion leaders who are investigators to optimise trial methodologies, mitigate recruitment and retention challenges, and build long-term relationships
• Be the local subject matter expert on the product and protocol in relevant trials to discuss early clinical data with external experts during feasibility and to quickly resolve medical queries from site staff during the trial
• Continuously monitor trial performance with Therapy Area Leads and Trial Managers and take proactive measures to address scientific issues

1. Establish a strong presence in new and current therapy areas

• Effectively communicate Novo Nordisk pipeline and scientific narrative to external stakeholders, especially those new to Novo Nordisk
• Secure mapping and updating of clinical care pathways for effective recruitment (including referrals) and retention in trials

1. Build organisational readiness

• In collaboration with Therapy Area Leads, co-design and deploy scientific knowledge building for Clinical Operations on therapy area, product and protocol
• Continuously exchange insights and introduce Medical Affairs colleagues to KOLs in new therapy areas, especially during pre-launch

Please note that this role involves travelling to clinical trial sites periodically in the assigned region within India and to the India Head Office when required.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• M.B.B.S with M.D. in any relevant discipline & strong background in clinical practice or research
• 4+ years experience in clinical or medical affairs strategic roles in the pharmaceutical industry
• Willingness to travel for clinical trial site visits in the assigned geographic area monthly or on need-basis, based on the alignment with line manager & organizational priorities
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical drug development and value chain
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial methodology
• An enterprise mindset demonstrating business understanding and promoting cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent external & internal stakeholder management able to influence internal and external audiences.
• Ability to innovate, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and embrace change
• Willingness to leverage technology such as AI tools and adopt a data-driven approach in all aspects of work

The Clinical Development Centre-India (CDC-India) within the Trial Operation ALAMP at Novo Nordisk A/S is one of the most diverse and collaborative groups within the organization. The Clinical Medical, Managers are an integral part of the CDC-India. From interactions with clinical trial site staff and developing and implementing early portfolio strategies for successful execution of pipeline products to providing scientific leadership and capability building to cross-functional colleagues, the Clinical Medical Management team is involved.
