Title: Civil Estimator Water Projects
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team, specializing in water projects such as water treatment plants, pipelines, reservoirs, and stormwater systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project risks, and supporting bid submissions for public and private sector water projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed BOQ & cost estimates for water-related civil engineering projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and site visits.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate scope and pricing.
- Review tender documents and ensure compliance with client requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools.
- Support contract negotiations and procurement planning.
- Monitor market trends and pricing for materials and services.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of water infrastructure systems (e.g., pipelines, treatment plants, drainage).
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Candy, MS Excel).
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Analytical & Professional Skills:
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- 10+ years of experience in civil BOQ & estimation, preferably in water infrastructure.
Preferred Experience:
- Estimating for Industrial / municipal or government water projects.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Experience with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods
