The Team

At Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), our GCC PEPI practice is a dynamic and integral part of our global operations, collaborating closely with clients and onshore teams to deliver independent, data-driven analysis and comprehensive, end-to-end services across the private equity investment lifecycle.

Our team specializes in providing strategic support for critical areas such as due diligence (commercial, operational, financial, IT, and more) and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring our clients achieve sustainable value creation.

Our mission is to empower private equity-owned portfolio companies to overcome challenges, unlock potential, and achieve operational excellence. Whether addressing underperformance, navigating complex reorganizations, or repositioning businesses for growth, the GCC PEPI team plays a pivotal role in driving impactful transformations.

As a valued member of the A&M GCC PEPI team based in Gurugram, you will have the unique opportunity to work on high-stakes, high-impact projects across multiple geographies and industries. You will engage with clients throughout the entire private equity lifecycle, including:

  • Pre-Acquisition Support: Conducting commercial and operational due diligence, carve-out planning, and merger integration to ensure seamless transitions and informed decision-making.
  • Transformation and Performance Improvement: Driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and deliver measurable results.
  • Turnaround and Restructuring: Supporting operational turnarounds and restructuring efforts to stabilize and revitalize underperforming businesses.
  • Exit Readiness and Execution: Preparing portfolio companies for successful exits by maximizing value and ensuring strategic alignment.

How you will contribute

As a Manager CDD PEPI, you will play a critical role in delivering high-impact solutions to clients and contributing to the growth of Alvarez & Marsal's entrepreneurial and fast-paced practice. Working closely with Senior Directors and Managing Directors in a flat, collaborative team structure, you will take ownership of key workstreams, deliver results directly to clients and leadership, and make a tangible impact on the success of our projects.

This role offers a unique platform to:

  • Deliver high-impact solutions across diverse projects, including:

Commercial Due Diligence: Assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

Operational Due Diligence: Evaluating operational capabilities, identifying risks, and uncovering efficiency opportunities.

Financial Due Diligence: Analysing financial performance, key drivers, and sustainability of earnings.

IT Due Diligence: Reviewing technology infrastructure, systems, and processes to ensure alignment with business goals.

Performance Improvement and Transformation: Driving initiatives to enhance profitability and unlock value.

Turnaround and Restructuring: Supporting underperforming businesses in implementing recovery strategies.

Exit Readiness: Preparing portfolio companies for successful exits through strategic alignment and value maximization.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement innovative, hands-on solutions for complex business challenges.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and shaping innovative service offerings tailored to market needs.

Qualifications


Professional Experience:

  • 611 years of experience within a leading strategy or operational consulting firm is highly desirable.
  • Alternatively, relevant experience in Private Equity, Corporate Finance, or Operations will also be considered.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving and financial acumen, with a deep understanding of business and operational drivers.
  • Advanced analytical, financial modelling, and presentation-building skills with precision and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the private equity lifecycle and deal processes.

Personal Attributes:

  • A fact-based, analytical mindset with a solution-focused approach.
  • A self-starter who challenges the status quo and thrives in entrepreneurial environments.
  • High integrity, with the ability to deliver difficult messages professionally and tactfully.
