Role Purpose

The Merchandising Manager is a revenue-critical leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance, inventory health, and product strategy alignment across AMPM's retail stores, online platform, and international exhibitions.

This role ensures that design vision converts into profitable product movement.

It goes beyond buying and planning to become a commercial custodian of:

  • Revenue growth
  • Inventory efficiency
  • Margin discipline
  • Store productivity
  • Exhibition commercial success
  • Omnichannel assortment consistency

The Merchandising Manager must balance creativity with commercial discipline, ensuring AMPM operates like a structured global fashion brand.

This is a strategic commercial role not only operational coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Buying & Seasonal Range Strategy
  • Develop seasonal merchandise range plans aligned to brand positioning and revenue targets
  • Finalize buy quantities, depth, breadth, and pricing (MRP alignment)
  • Conduct trend and competitive analysis for informed buying decisions
  • Align range architecture across couture, ready-to-wear, and core lines
  • Ensure exhibitions and international events are supported with commercially viable assortments
B. Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management
  • Create annual and seasonal OTB (Open to Buy) plans
  • Monitor sell-through weekly and monthly to optimize buying decisions
  • Reduce deadstock and manage markdown strategy scientifically
  • Ensure ideal stock turn ratios
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across 4 retail stores and online
  • Execute store-wise product allocation and replenishment strategy
  • Build structured liquidation plans for slow-moving inventory
  • Monitor warehouse flow and stock accuracy
C. Sales & Performance Analytics
  • Track category-level profitability, margins, and stock turn
  • Analyze weekly performance reports to identify fast/slow-moving SKUs
  • Identify gaps in assortment and recommend corrective action
  • Build performance dashboards aligned to business targets
  • Forecast revenue based on seasonal sell-through trends
D. Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Work closely with Design to align commercial viability and creative direction
  • Coordinate with Production on TNA calendar and delivery timelines
  • Partner with Retail Operations to execute merchandising plans
  • Align with Marketing for product launches and campaigns
  • Work with Finance for margin planning and pricing strategies
  • Collaborate with Warehouse for stock movement efficiency
E. Systems & Commercial Discipline
  • Standardize reporting templates
  • Build structured planning systems
  • Improve forecast accuracy year-on-year
  • Develop SOPs for planning and allocation
  • Ensure merchandising decisions are data-driven
