About The Role

The BIM manager's role is to understand existing project workflow in GPL, establish BIM workflow and implement the workflow in GPL projects. The primary responsibility involves preparation and implementation of BIM execution plan including goal and uses, responsibility matrix, deliverable list, delivery schedule, BIM standard development, model review, coordination, quality control etc., for all BIM projects at GPL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility Area Key Activities Operational / Customer Design/Technical
  • Prepare and implement BIM execution plan, BIM Goals and uses, BIM responsibility matrix
  • Identify BIM deliverables and timelines
  • Act as single point of contact for BIM consultants and ensure that the BIM deliverables are being provided in a form suitable to the project needs
  • Participate in periodic review meetings on project progress.
  • Prepare periodic progress & performance reports
  • Review and coordinate ASMEP BIM models at various LOD levels
  • Review clash detection in software such as Navisworks
  • Ensure quality control for BIM
  • Flag constraints and clear bottlenecks in a timely manner
  • Prepare 4D BIM, 5D BIM and simulation operational
  • Develop and implement BIM workflow
  • Communicate benefits of BIM within the organisation
  • Ensure the compliance to the guidelines by consultants throughout the project duration Software
  • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases, maintaining legacy software and customizing software for specific organisational need.
  • Oversee BIM software organisation-wide, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all BIM installations.
  • Support each project team by managing and creating content library files and templates, creating and enforcing standards
  • Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies
  • Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM Responsibility Area Key Activities Training and knowledge sharing
  • Provide fundamental and intermediate training to in-house staff on BIM software
  • Continue education on BIM processes and new developments
  • Provide technical orientation to new hires regarding BIM tools
  • Test and evaluate new hires skills in BIM
  • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM; bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams Sales and Marketing
  • Facilitate preparation of rendered images and VR walk through Process Processes Adherence
  • Comply with company defined guidelines and process adherence to meet project timelines
  • Analyze and solve BIM user issues Process Improvement
  • Identify processes/procedures in own work area that need improvement
  • Recommend process improvement ideas to streamline efficiency/costs/productivity

Key Interactions: Internal External Design and Operations team Main Consultants – Architecture, structure, MEP, BIM service provider (if any) Project team BIM service/ software providers Sales & Marketing Rendering and VR agency.

Who are we looking for

Educational Qualification

  • B. Arch/ Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.

Critical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, and/or equivalent 3D, 4D and 5D software is essential.
  • Must be versed in local industry BIM initiatives and internationally recognized BIM initiatives, standards, protocols and mandates like BS1192 and ISO19650 General knowledge of integrated architectural and engineering practice Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skill
  • Must have good communications and interpersonal skills Ability to set priorities in an efficient and timely manner to meet essential job functions
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Possess a strong work ethic.
