About the Role
The Operation MIS Lead will drive data-led decision-making across freight forwarding operations by building a centralized, automated reporting ecosystem. This role will own Power BI dashboards, reporting governance, and analytics to deliver real-time business insights and improve operational and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dashboard & Reporting Ownership
- Design and manage scalable Power BI dashboards across operations
- Define and standardize KPIs for performance tracking
- Enable real-time / near real-time reporting by integrating multiple data sources
- Build intuitive dashboards for internal stakeholders and customers
2. Operational & Commercial Reporting
- Develop reports for shipment tracking, SLA, OTD, and exception management
- Create dashboards for cost, invoicing, AR/AP, and contract compliance
- Deliver governance and customer-specific reports
3. Data & MIS Governance
- Build centralized MIS framework ensuring single source of truth
- Automate reporting (daily/weekly/monthly MIS packs)
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and consistency (>99%)
- Manage data from ERP, TMS, WMS, and finance systems
4. Analytics & Insights
- Identify trends, gaps, and performance issues through data analysis
- Conduct variance, cost, and margin analysis
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
- Provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and profitability
5. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a bridge between Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Data teams
- Support leadership with dashboards, scorecards, and insights
- Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making
Required Skills
Domain Expertise
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding (Ocean, Air, Inland, Warehouse, 4PL)
- Knowledge of shipment lifecycle, SLAs, OTD, and logistics workflows
Technical & MIS Skills
- Expertise in Power BI, dashboarding, and data visualization
- Strong MIS/reporting framework design and automation capability
- Experience handling large datasets across multiple systems
Analytics & Business Acumen
- Strong data analysis, KPI design, and performance tracking skills
- Ability to connect operational data with financial impact
- Experience in cost optimization and revenue leakage analysis
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication
- Ability to simplify complex data into actionable insights
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- 8–12 years of experience in MIS, BI, or analytics roles
- Mandatory experience in logistics / freight forwarding domain
- 4–6+ years of hands-on Power BI and reporting experience
- Proven experience in building end-to-end reporting frameworks
