Job Summary:
The L3 Print Management Service Engineer acts as the senior technical authority for enterprise print environments. This role is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, optimization, deployment, and ongoing support of print management ecosystems including print servers, print queues, drivers, MFPs/printers, security controls, and associated management tools. The engineer serves as an escalation point for L1/L2 teams, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of printing infrastructure.x
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the L3 escalation point for complex print-related incidents, problems, and outages.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across print servers, queues, firmware, drivers, and management applications.
- Conduct RCA and implement long-term permanent fixes.
- Design and optimize enterprise print management architecture (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
- Lead deployment and configuration of print servers and driver repositories.
- Expertise in enterprise printer hardware (HP, Canon, Xerox, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, etc.).
- Support and manage print management tools such as PaperCut, YSoft, Equitrac, uniFLOW, Printix, and Microsoft Universal Print.
- Implement secure printing features such as PIN release and badge authentication.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell for print queue management.
- Generate print utilization reports and optimize costs.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution and improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in Windows Server print roles and driver management.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise printers and multifunction devices.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with enterprise print management platforms.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HP ASE, Canon MFP certification, CompTIA A+/Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience working in ITIL-based environments.
- Knowledge of cloud printing solutions such as Microsoft Universal Print.
Experience Required:
- 4+ years in print management services, including at least 2+ years in an L3 or senior support role.
