Job Description

The Assistant Manager Warehouse Operations will oversee and manage day-to-day warehouse activities to ensure smooth operations, efficient inventory management, timely dispatch and receipt of goods, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • The role requires strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills to optimize warehouse processes and lead a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely movement of goods.
  • Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve operational efficiency and maintain high performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations within the warehouse.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
  • Manage KPIs and generate reports on warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment.
  • Handle escalations, resolve operational issues, and maintain smooth workflow.
  • Liaise with external vendors, transporters, and service providers as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in warehouse management or logistics are a 5-8 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably with experience in team management and process improvement.
