Core Responsibilities:
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
- Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
- Carry equipment such as tools and radios.
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate daily activities and issues with other shifts using approved communication methods.
- Display basic knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacement.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, electrical switches, outlets, and guestroom items.
- Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
- Use Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Perform repairs on landscaping and external sprinklers.
- Display basic computer skills, including managing air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
- Follow all safety, security policies, procedures, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with appreciation.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and listen/respond appropriately to other employees concerns.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50 pounds or less (heavier tasks with assistance).
- Move up/down stairs, service ramps, and ladders.
- Reach overhead and below knees; perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Some experience in general maintenance and painting (interior and exterior).
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
- No supervisory experience required.
