Mainframe Storage Administrator - SME

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain DASD and tape storage environments including DFSMS, HSM, RMM, DFP, DSS, and ICF catalogs
• Perform storage management activities including configuration, upgrades, and optimization
• Plan, implement, and test disaster recovery strategies at regular intervals
• Work on storage data migration using tools like TDMF and FDRPAS
• Implement and manage replication technologies such as PPRC, Global Mirroring, XRC, and SRDF/A
• Handle tape management including tape replication, tape grid, and export technologies
• Monitor and manage storage hardware subsystems including IBM, EMC, HDS, and removable media devices
• Use third-party tools such as FDR/ABR, CA-1, CA-Disk, and Stop X37 for storage management
• Maintain documentation of storage configurations and processes
• Support reporting and analysis of storage utilization and performance
• Assist in creation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for clients
