The Team

Deloitte's Technology & Transformation practice can help you uncover and unlock the value buried deep inside vast amounts of data. Our global network provides strategic guidance and implementation services to help companies manage data from disparate sources and convert it into accurate, actionable information that can support fact-driven decision-making and generate an insight-driven advantage. Our practice addresses the continuum of opportunities in business intelligence & visualization, data management, performance management and next-generation analytics and technologies, including big data, cloud, cognitive and machine learning.

Roles and Responsibilities

Senior mainframe professional with strong experience in Development of IBM z/OS applications. The role requires deep technical skills in core mainframe technologies along with limited project coordination experience.

Key Responsibilities

Development

• Develop and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and IDMS.
• Perform technical design, coding, and code reviews
• Implement fixes and enhancements for business and regulatory requirements

Problem Solving

• Troubleshoot batch failures, CICS issues, DB2 errors, and abends
• Perform root cause analysis and permanent defect fixes
• Support batch cycles, online processing, and production releases

Technical Ownership

• Act as technical point of contact for assigned applications
• Guide and mentor team members on mainframe technical issues
• Coordinate with QA, operations, and infrastructure teams

Project Support

• Support estimation, planning, and task tracking
• Provide technical inputs for requirements and solution discussions
• Assist in release planning and execution

MustHave Skills

• 9-12 years of handson experience in Mainframe Development & Support
• Strong expertise in:
• COBOL
• JCL
• CICS/IMS
• DB2/IDMS
• VSAM
• Strong experience handling production support for highvolume systems
• Good understanding of batch processing and job scheduling
• Strong debugging and problemsolving skills

GoodtoHave Skills

• Exposure to project coordination activities (planning, tracking, reporting)
• Experience with:
• Change and release management
• Performance monitoring and tuning
• Automated job scheduling or testing tools
• Domain experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Retail
• Awareness of Agile delivery models, Devops,Cloud
• Mainframe modernization/migration skills.
