Lead and manage mainframe development teams across project lifecycles. Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of mainframe systems. Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices. Implement disaster recovery strategies and ensure data security compliance. Guide modernization efforts and integration with distributed systems. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues. Maintain documentation for system architecture and processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 6+ years of experience in mainframe development and architecture. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS. Experience with scripting languages like REXX, Shell, or Groovy. Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and tools. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams.
