Mainframe Developer

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using core languages and technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Lead and manage mainframe development projects from inception to completion, taking responsibility for project execution and delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to precisely define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
• Develop and implement comprehensive system enhancements and modifications to existing mainframe applications.
• Mentor and guide junior mainframe developers, providing technical support, code reviews, and fostering their growth.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Apply knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques for mainframe systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and performance issues proactively to maintain optimal system health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and disruption to business operations.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience in Mainframe Technologies.
• Proficiency in Mainframe programming languages and tools, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Strong capabilities in designing, coding, testing, and debugging mainframe applications.
• Experience in leading and managing mainframe development projects.
• Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders and define project requirements.
• Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization of mainframe systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts.
