Mainframe Cobol consultant

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe COBOL Consultant to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 2-8 years of experience in mainframe development and support, specifically using COBOL. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing mainframe applications, as well as maintaining existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design mainframe applications using COBOL.
• Develop, test, and implement COBOL programs for various business solutions.
• Maintain and support existing mainframe applications and resolve issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and performance.
• Document technical specifications and processes for future reference.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in COBOL programming language.
• Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) for job scheduling in mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of DB2 and CICS for database and transaction processing.
• Familiarity with mainframe tools like IBM z/OS and RACF.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing mainframe applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
