About the Role
In this role, you will be at the forefront of transforming our legacy mainframe infrastructure into a modern, agile, and scalable environment. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise in mainframe technologies and modern programming frameworks, combined with strategic leadership skills. You will lead initiatives to assess, plan, and execute the migration of mainframe applications to contemporary platforms, including cloud environments and microservices architectures.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive mainframe modernization strategy
- Analyze existing mainframe applications and infrastructure
- Design migration plans for transitioning from legacy systems to modern platforms
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the modernization process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Who you are:
- 10+ years of experience in mainframe environments and modernization projects, with a proven track record of successful implementations.
- Experience with mainframe modernization tools and platforms (e.g.,AWS Mainframe modernization services, Micro Focus, IBM Rational, TmaxSoft).
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and IMS and other mainframe technologies, with experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, and application development frameworks.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements.
