Role Description The MAHILA CAREER ADVISOR (KURNOOL) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kurnool, focused on guiding individuals, especially women, in exploring and planning career opportunities related to the insurance sector and beyond. The role involves conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, helping clients assess their interests, skills, and goals, and recommending suitable career or upskilling paths. The advisor will provide information about LIC's career opportunities, including agency or advisory roles, and support candidates through orientation, application, and onboarding processes. Daily responsibilities include organizing career guidance workshops, coordinating with local educational institutions and community organizations, and maintaining accurate records of counseling sessions and outcomes. The role also includes creating awareness about financial literacy, presenting LIC's products and career pathways in a clear and ethical manner, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless support for prospective candidates.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling capabilities, including experience or training in Career Counseling, Career Development, and Career Management.
- Experience working with learners or job seekers, with skills in Student Counseling and guidance for diverse educational and professional backgrounds.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written communication in English and relevant local languages, with the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Human Resources, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications in counseling or career guidance are an advantage.
- Ability to build trust with community members, demonstrate empathy and cultural sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining counseling records, preparing reports, and coordinating events or workshops.
- Basic understanding of the insurance or financial services sector, or willingness to learn; familiarity with LIC's products and career structures is a plus.
- Comfort working on-site in Kurnool, with readiness to conduct outreach activities, attend local events, and collaborate with schools, colleges, and community groups.
