Role Summary

The Loyalty Solution Architect will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and customer-centric loyalty platforms for enterprise clients across travel, hospitality, retail, and financial services. The role requires deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, API-led integrations, microservices, customer identity, and enterprise-grade solution design. The architect will collaborate with product, engineering, CRM, and business teams to modernize loyalty ecosystems, integrate third-party platforms, and deliver seamless omnichannel customer experiences.

This position is ideal for a seasoned Enterprise Architect with strong AWS architecture experience, multi-market deployment exposure, and hands-on delivery of modular customer engagement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Loyalty Platform Architecture & Design

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture of loyalty platforms, including customer engagement flows, points engine, tier management, rewards catalog, and partner integrations.
  • Design scalable microservices architectures, API gateways, and cloud-native components using AWS/Azure.
  • Build high-level and detailed solution blueprints, including component diagrams, data flows, and integration patterns.

Customer Identity & Access Architecture

  • Architect secure authentication and authorization solutions using AWS Cognito, IAM, WAF, and API Gateway.
  • Implement SSO, MFA, identity federation, and secure token management for loyalty customers.

Integration & Product Ecosystem

  • Integrate loyalty systems with CRM (Salesforce), CMS (WordPress/Sitecore), payment gateways, marketing systems, and enterprise core systems.
  • Apply API-first, event-driven, and service-oriented patterns for integrating customer platforms and partner ecosystems.

Digital Transformation & Modernisation

  • Modernise legacy or monolithic loyalty applications into microservices and serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, and Node.js.
  • Enable omnichannel digital experiences that improve member engagement, retention, and personalisation.

Stakeholder Management & Consulting

  • Collaborate with business teams across travel, banking, retail, fitness, and insurance.
  • Participate in RFI, RFP, RPQ, and SOW processes and provide architectural guidance in pre-sales cycles.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients during multi-market deployments and digital transformation initiatives.

Security, Compliance & Performance

  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security practices, scalability guidelines, and compliance standards.
  • Design solutions with high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation in mind.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Route53, WAF, CloudFormation, and VPC.
  • Experience with Azure components such as Azure Sentinel (SIEM, SOAR) for monitoring and security operations.
  • Proficiency in designing microservices, serverless systems, and enterprise modular architectures.
  • Working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce), CMS (Sitecore/WordPress), API orchestration (Mulesoft), and CI/CD practices.

Domain Experience

  • Experience across travel & hospitality, banking & financial services, fitness and membership platforms, insurance, and retail.
  • Understanding of Open Banking, club/fitness membership systems, and large-scale customer ecosystems.

Core Architecture Skills

  • Solution blueprinting, technical design, reference architecture creation, and technology selection.
  • Expertise in data privacy, identity management, and secure customer experience architectures.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe delivery.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and consulting skills.
  • Ability to work independently or lead architectural streams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
