About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Looker Specialist to support our analytics and data engineering teams. The ideal candidate will combine deep Looker expertise with a strong understanding of data modeling and performance optimization. You will play a key role in stabilizing, optimizing, and elevating our Looker ecosystem, ensuring our business teams can access fast, reliable, and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary subject-matter expert for all Looker-related needs including troubleshooting, optimization, and best practices.
- Audit and enhance existing LookML models, explores, and dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data structures and semantic layers in BigQuery.
- Implement governance and version control standards across Looker assets.
- Provide technical guidance and ad-hoc training to analysts and business users on Looker capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, optimizing query performance, and improving dashboard response times.
Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Looker, including LookML development, dashboard design, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, including schema design and query optimization.
- Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of dimensional data modeling principles.
- Proven ability to work with large and complex datasets and optimize data pipelines for analytics.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, data-driven organization preferred.
