Job Description

A Logistics & Operations Head in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain — from procurement and warehousing to distribution and delivery — ensuring products reach the market quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively.

Key Responsibilities

 

Supply Chain Management 

• Oversee procurement, inventory, warehousing, and distribution 

• Ensure smooth coordination between factory, warehouse & distributors 

• Maintain optimum stock levels

 

Distribution & Logistics 

• Manage transportation networks 

• Reduce delivery time & freight cost 

• Handle third-party logistics (3PL) partners 

Operations Planning 

• Demand forecasting & production planning 

• Monitor daily dispatch & delivery performance 

• Ensure timely replenishment in retail stores

 

Cost Control & Budgeting 

• Optimize logistics cost 

• Control wastage & damage 

• Improve operational efficiency 

Team Leadership 

• Lead warehouse managers & logistics team 

• Ensure SOP compliance 

• Drive performance targets 

Required Skills 

• Strong knowledge of Supply Chain & Inventory Management 

• ERP/SAP knowledge 

• Vendor negotiation skills 

• Data analysis & reporting 

• Leadership & problem-solving skills 

• Knowledge of FMCG distribution model

 

Qualification 

• Graduate / MBA in Supply Chain / Operations 

• 8–15+ years experience in FMCG logistics & operations
