The Role:
The role would be responsible for preparing and implementing strategy of freight rates and negotiation for Primary and secondary transportation and managing budgets as per guideline
Responsibilities:
- Preparing freight strategy and the budget as per organization requirement.
- Formalizing negotiation strategy and conduct negotiation as per SOP.
- Adhering to freight buying SOP and documentation.
- Ensuring Rs/KL as per budget.
- Improving efficiency - Utilization & truck mix.
- Ensuring min Rs/KL on the route by implementing best truck types.
- Review of freight on weekly basis and take appropriate decisions for improvements.
- Review/meeting with vendors on regular intervals.
- Onboarding of transporters and implementing new edge transportation as per organization requirement
- Implementation and managing TMS.
Technical / Administrative Support:
- Provide technical support - implementing SOPs/ working practices as per norms suggested by organization.
- Onboarding of transporters- negotiating freight.
- Preparing and managing budget cost.
- Conducting reverse auction/ over the table negotiations as per SOPs.
- Critically review freight and implement best practices to generate operational efficiency.
- Benchmarking of freight in market as well as competitor.
Skills required:
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work proactively and flexibly, individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure.
- Dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Visiting freight markets to take market insights.
Experience:
- Min 10-12 years of experience in freight negotiation and managing of freight
- MBA & Engineering Graduate.
