Role:
Saffronart is looking to hire a Manager for its Logistics and Operations team, based out of the New Delhi office.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the shipping of consignments across domestic and international locations.
- Manage end-to-end logistics for auction projects, including both online and live auctions.
- Oversee shipments for domestic and international exhibitions, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Coordinate with third-party carriers and logistics partners to ensure seamless shipment operations.
- Handle all export and import documentation, including preparation, filing, and completion of required paperwork to support daily logistics and order fulfilment.
- Organize transportation of consignments within India and globally, working closely with outsourced packers to ensure proper packing, insurance coverage, and timely dispatch.
- Oversee and supervise the packing and unpacking of artworks, ensuring adherence to handling, safety, and preservation standards.
- Manage installation requirements related to shipment handling, ensuring artworks are securely prepared for transit.
- Conduct and supervise condition checks for artworks during inbound and outbound movements, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of any discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain and manage inventory systems, including regular stock reconciliation and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to strict timelines for deliveries to clients and event locations.
- Stay updated on international trade regulations, including taxes and duties, and share relevant updates with internal teams.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize shipping and packing costs; prepare and review monthly expenditure vs. profitability reports.
- Maintain effective working relationships with government authorities involved in import/export processes (e.g. Customs, RBI).
- Manage storage and transit insurance processes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aimed at maximizing customer satisfaction while minimizing operational costs.
- Handle FTWZ (Free Trade Warehousing Zone) shipments and related compliance requirements.
- Manage antiquity inventory, including filing of transfer and registration certificates, and liaising with ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) for regulatory compliance.
Qualification and experience:
- Graduate in a bachelor's degree; a Diploma/Degree in Logistic and Supply Chain Management is an advantage
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a logistics company; experience working on art-based logistics is ideal
- Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English and Hindi
