As a Localization Engineer Smartphone & Tablet, You will shape standards, guide L10n Engineering team, manage and monitor daily activities, lead the team for efficient and automation tasks, ensure mobile apps and device UI experiences are globally ready by supporting localization workflows, automation, and technical integration across all platforms
Responsibilities
- Lead team activities and roadmap.
- Interface with other internal teams for activities management and solutions.
- Prepare mobile UI strings, app content, and resource files for localization.
- Lead development and maintenance of automation/scripts for mobile localization workflows.
- Work closely with linguists, PMs, and mobile engineers to integrate localized assets.
- Troubleshoot encoding, formatting, build, and platform-specific issues (iOS/Android).
- Validate localized app builds, layouts, and device displays to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintain documentation for workflows, tools, integrations, and localization standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred.
- Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple teams and systems.
- 4-6+ years in localization engineering, mobile development, or related technical role.
- Strong knowledge of mobile localization workflows and formats (XML, JSON, strings, .arb).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Experience with iOS/Android build processes and common mobile UI behaviors.
- Experience debugging encoding, layout, or resource integration issues.
- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD systems
