This role is responsible for driving the BCC Kaizen cost‑saving program through part localization, supplier validation, and engineering support for exports to global EU sites. The position requires strong technical ownership across commodities, collaboration with global teams, and execution of Design‑to‑Cost (DTC) and Design‑for‑Manufacture (DFM) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead engineering activities for localization, feasibility studies, and material/specification equivalence.

Collaborate with sourcing and supplier quality teams for RFQs, supplier selection, and validation readiness.

Execute validation plans including lab testing, coordination, and field trials.

Represent engineering with global Transit components like Brakes & Couplers, Access, Current Collection, etc.

Drive DTC and DFM improvements to achieve cost‑reduction targets.

Support Should‑Cost analysis and India‑first engineering approaches for NPI.

Manage engineering change processes (PCR/ECR) and ensure complete, compliant documentation packages.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.

5–10+ years of experience in product development, localization, or cost engineering.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, sheet metal, welding, etc.).

Experience working with suppliers, validation labs, and cross‑functional global teams.

Knowledge of DTC, DFM, GD&T, and engineering change management systems.

Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Work Experience

Experience in Rail/Transit or heavy engineering.

Familiarity with PLM systems and ERP tools.

Required Skills And Experience

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
