About The Role
We are looking for a motivated Linux Systems Administrator with 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of cloud technologies, and a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced support environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating System Management: Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian.
- Firewall Administration: Proficient in configuring and managing firewall rules (iptables, NAT, PAT), and handling public/private networks securely.
- Technical Support: Timely response and resolution of support tickets, ensuring effective communication with customers.
- Web Server Provisioning: Deployment and management of Nginx and Apache2, including SSL certificate renewals and updates.
- Network Monitoring: Collection and analysis of network logs using tools like Wireshark.
- Automation & Maintenance: Creation and management of cron jobs, regular log rotation checks, disk alert monitoring, and backup scheduling.
- Server Synchronization: Ensuring proper time zone synchronization between servers at regular intervals.
- Virtualization: Skilled in creating and managing virtual machines using Oracle VirtualBox, Hyper-V, and VMware.
- (Optional) Cloud Services: Experience with AWS RDS, EC2 instance provisioning, and pricing verification across availability zones.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience working as a Linux Systems Administrator.
- Strong understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC (basic level).
- Candidates should have experience using Freshdesk and Jira.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent customer-handling skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or night shifts, if required.
Education
- B.Tech / B.E / MCA / BSc / Any graduation with IT background.
