Role: Linux Engineer (Ubuntu Administrator Support)

Location: Remote (India-based, aligned to US Pacific Standard Time)

Work Hours: 10:00 AM 7:00 PM PST (11:30 PM 8:30 AM IST)

We are looking for a motivated Linux Engineer with hands-on experience in Ubuntu administration to support our US-based operations. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux systems during US business hours, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support for Ubuntu Linux servers and environments.
• Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts; respond to incidents in real-time.
• Perform routine administration tasks: user management, patching, backups, and security updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Collaborate with US teams during PST hours for escalations and project support.
• Document processes, incidents, and resolutions for knowledge base improvement.
• Assist in automation and scripting for repetitive tasks (basic shell scripting preferred).

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Ubuntu/Linux administration (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent).
• Understanding of network basics (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Ability to work independently during night shifts (IST late-night to early morning).
• Good communication skills for collaboration with US stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in Linux/DevOps environments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field (preferred).
• 13 years of experience in Linux system administration (junior candidates with strong fundamentals will be considered).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, Python) is desirable.

Work Schedule:

Shift: 10 AM 7 PM PST (11:30 PM 8:30 AM IST).

Days: Monday to Friday.

Flexibility for occasional weekend/extended support during critical incidents.
