Linux Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Triage ITSM tickets and system alerts within DCS operations boundary.
• Diagnose and resolve known issues using procedure manuals and operational references.
• Handle L2-level DCS Operations incidents for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Follow established escalation protocols to L3 DCS Engineers as required.
• Plan and execute system patching and vulnerability-related changes for RHEL.
• Execute BAU changes related to Regional DCS Operations for RHEL.
• Support asset lifecycle management, including build, operationalize, upgrade, refresh, and decommission of RHEL systems.
• Support DR drills from the perspective of RHEL systems.
• Assist L3 engineers in preparing Root Cause Analysis and improvement plans for major incidents.
• Coordinate with regional teams for incident resolution and system changes related to RHEL.
• Support preparation of technical documentation ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Manage RHEL servers end-to-end, including installation, configuration, and updates for optimal performance.
• Support updates to hardening standards, templates, and policies from the Bank and regulators.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues using root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support automation, orchestration, and application deployment using tools such as Ansible and Puppet.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux operations.
• Willingness to participate in rotational on-call support and weekend activities.
• Knowledge of Service SLAs, RTO, and RPO targets.
• Experience with infrastructure platform monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
• Experience working in multi-cultural teams.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Service Request, Problem) and tools (ServiceNow).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with APAC teams, including IT Infra, Security, Service Management, Application, and Country IT teams.
• Prior experience in banking or financial institutions is a plus.
• Advanced understanding of RHEL server management, including configuration, optimization, and maintenance in mission-critical environments.
• Experience with shell scripting for automation and system management.
• Familiarity with Ansible, Puppet, and patching best practices.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMware, or Nutanix AHV.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE are strongly preferred.
