Job Description Linux Administration

Roles and Responsibilities
Min 7 Years of experience in Linux Administration
Experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux and Knowledge on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Linux
Handson administration and operation of scalable IT infrastructures on both internal cloud vmware and physical environments
Install and set up Linux systems and servers often for organizationwide deployment
Assist and troubleshoot client end users with system knowledge related to user authentication user management file configuration storage access backup and navigation through files
Create monitor and review alerts generated by tools and systems and resolve based on SOP Notify L2L3 team for server application and database service based on thresholds defined in the system
Set repository install update and remove packages
Manage network printers file sharing NFS SAMBA Shell scripts
Deploy configure maintain systems including software and core services
Manage security including basic firewall security patch and Linux configuration optimization and hardening
Create and configure file system and attributes such as permissions access controls list encryptions and network file system
Manage file system permissions for users and groups create and apply policies
Resolving server issues job scheduling and maintenance
Operate running systems including booting into different run levels identifying processes start stop virtual machines and controlling services
Configure local storage using logical volume manager LVM partitions and logical volumes
Perform OS and application upgrades and server migrations to new environment
Install and maintain agents on servers for centralized monitoring and management
Maintain inventory updates of system in centralized inventory and management systems
Utilize Linux scripting Bourne PERL BASH PowerShell etc to optimize and automate system administrator tasks
Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts
Perform hardware and software technology refreshes ensuring milestone compliance while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions
Work with and manage Incident Management tickets within help desk ticketing system
Perform backup recovery functions for Linux server environments
Experienced in the management of Enterprise Infrastructures and Systems including Linux RHEL CentOS Ubuntu Oracle Linux and SUSE Linux
Linux troubleshooting skills during the migration phase and co ordination with multiple team
Samba SNMP NTP PAM SSH NFS CIFS LVM ZFS Shell scripting Patching YUM IPS RPM package management SUDO Multipath SFTP DNS SAN NAS principles including hands on FC and iSCSI
