About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Administrator to join our dynamic team at Tata Consultancy Services. This role involves managing and maintaining Linux-based systems across a variety of client environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Linux operating systems such as SUSE and RedHat, along with a solid understanding of networking protocols and server management. As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux servers, implementing security measures, and supporting cloud integrations. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 8-12 years of professional experience as a Linux or cloud administrator. A strong educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred. Certification in Linux administration (such as RHCE or SUSE Certified Engineer) is highly desirable. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, including SUSE and RedHat, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Proficiency in networking, protocols, storage management, and security is essential. Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to system maintenance are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related hardware and software components to ensure system stability and performance.
- Manage server performance, monitor system health, and troubleshoot issues related to Linux systems and network connectivity.
- Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPN clients to safeguard organizational data and infrastructure.
- Maintain and optimize various services such as DNS, DHCP, FTP, Samba, LDAP, NFS, SMTP, and NTP, ensuring seamless operation.
- Perform regular backups, disaster recovery, and system recovery procedures to prevent data loss and minimize downtime.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and system upgrades to support organizational growth and technological advancements.
- Engage in continuous testing of new Linux versions, patches, and applications to ensure compatibility and security.
- Collaborate with users and other IT teams to resolve account and system issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to support hybrid cloud environments and cloud migrations.
- Manage storage solutions and filesystem management, including RAID configurations and storage virtualization.
