Job Description

Foundational->Service Management->ITIL,Technology->Infrastructure-Server Administration->Linux Admin,Technology->Server-Virtualization->RedHat Enterprise Virtualization

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (with strong focus on Red Hat) across development, test, and production environments.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Linux-based systems through proactive monitoring, patching, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and manage user access, file systems, storage, and networking configurations in line with organizational standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex OS-level, performance, and infrastructure issues, driving root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Plan and execute OS upgrades, kernel updates, and security hardening activities with minimal downtime.
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with application, database, and network teams to support deployments and environment changes.
  • Apply ITIL-aligned practices for incident, problem, and change management, ensuring compliance with governance processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide escalation support for critical production incidents.
  • Mentor junior administrators, sharing best practices in Linux administration and operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.TECH degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8–15 years of hands-on experience as a Linux administrator, managing medium to large-scale environments.
  • Strong expertise in Linux administration with at least 8 years working on enterprise-grade distributions, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Proven experience in system installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning for Linux servers.
  • Solid understanding of system security, access control, and OS-level hardening in Linux environments.
  • Practical experience working within ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
