Position Overview
Pallavi Engineering College is seeking an experienced and passionate Librarian to manage and enhance the
school library resources. The Librarian will play a key role in supporting academic excellence by promoting
reading habits, information literacy, and effective use of library resources among students and staff.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, ensuring a well-organized, safe, and
student-friendly environment.
Develop, maintain, and update the library collection in alignment with the school curriculum and
academic requirements.
Classify, catalog, and maintain books, journals, digital resources, and reference materials using standard
library systems.
Guide students and teachers in selecting appropriate reading and research materials.
Promote a strong reading culture through library periods, book fairs, reading programs, and literary
activities.
Maintain accurate records of library inventory, issue/return of books, and periodic stock verification.
Integrate digital learning tools, e-resources, and online databases into library services.
Collaborate with teaching staff to support classroom learning and project-based research.
Ensure discipline, proper usage, and ethical handling of library resources by students.
Prepare periodic reports related to library usage, acquisitions, and activities for school management.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of proven experience as a Librarian in a reputed school or educational institution.
Strong knowledge of library management systems, cataloging standards, and digital library tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Passion for books, learning, and student development.
