Legal Counsel - Maritime

My client is a leading and growing global transport and logistics business and we are recruiting for a Legal Counsel. You will be given the opportunity to support the business on all legal related matters in the region, and work closely with stakeholders in the market.

Responsibilities for this Legal Counsel - Maritime

• Provide legal guidance on shipping and maritime-related matters, including transportation contracts, charter arrangements, agency agreements, guarantees, and indemnities.
• Support compliance programmes, including sanctions, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and antitrust initiatives.
• Handle corporate and transactional work, including financing matters, M&A activities, joint ventures, and corporate structuring.
• Advise on governance frameworks and legal developments impacting the business.

Requirements for this Legal Counsel - Maritime

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years PQE gained in private practice and/or in-house environments.
• Strong experience in commercial, corporate, regulatory, or transportation-related legal matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Shipping, logistics, transportation, or maritime industry exposure is preferred
