Role Overview

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to lead and manage all legal aspects of the organization, with a strong focus on customer and vendor contracting, negotiations, and risk mitigation. The role will act as a strategic partner to business, ensuring robust legal frameworks while enabling fast-paced growth in a regulated BFSI environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contracting & Negotiations (Primary Focus)

• Draft, review, and negotiate client and vendor agreements including NDAs, MSAs, and SLAs
• Create standard templates and fallback clauses
• Partner with Sales and Operations to close deals efficiently

2. Legal Advisory & Business Partnering

• Advise leadership on legal risks and strategy
• Support new product and partnership structures

3. Regulatory & Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, DPDP Act, and BFSI outsourcing norms
• Track regulatory updates and implement changes

4. Risk Management & Governance

• Identify and mitigate contractual risks
• Support audits and due diligence

5. Dispute Resolution & Litigation

• Coordinate with external counsel
• Manage legal notices and escalations

6. Data Protection & Confidentiality

• Ensure strong data protection clauses in all contracts
• Work with tech teams on data security alignment

Experience:

1. 5+ years in BFSI / Fintech / NBFC / Law Firms
2. Strong contract negotiation experience

Skills:

1. Drafting and negotiation
2. Regulatory understanding
3. Business acumen and stakeholder management

Qualifications:

1. LLB / LLM
2. Qualified to practice in India
