Legal Consultant (on contract)

Engagement Type: Contractual - 12 months (extendable)

Reporting: Head- Legal & Compliance

Qualification & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree from a recognized law school, with 5 - 8 yrs of relevant experience

Role Summary

The Consultant will support the Central Legal team by providing legal assistance across multiple business verticals including Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Asset Management, Corporate Functions and other group businesses. The role requires strong expertise in commercial contracts, be-spoke agreements, risk identification and stakeholder management within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Central Legal Support

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts including service agreements, NDAs, engagement letters, and vendor contracts for central and partner functions.
• Identify and highlight legal, commercial and risk related deviation, from standard templates and internal policies and provide structured mitigation inputs.

Investment Banking Support

• Support the Investment Banking business in reviewing and negotiating NDAs, engagement letters, and related commercial documents.
• Provide contractual risk inputs for IB-related engagements as required.

Wealth Management Support

• Review service contracts, distribution agreements, and other commercial arrangements for the Wealth Management business.
• Support the business on contractual and legal queries in line with regulatory and internal frameworks.

Support to Other Businesses

• Act as a shared legal resource by providing ad-hoc and day-to-day legal support across other business verticals.
• Conduct legal research and contract reviews as required.
