Role Description
Cache Labs is seeking a Legal Associate to lead and manage all legal documentation, contracts, and compliance across the company and its group brands. This role is central to ensuring that HR documentation, employment agreements, client contracts, and data governance are precise, compliant, and enforceable while supporting our fast-growing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
a. HR and Employment Legal Documentation
Draft, review, and maintain employment-related agreements including:
- Offer letters, appointment letters, employment contracts, NDAs, non-compete and non-solicitation clauses.
- HR policies (leave, conduct, termination, etc.), disciplinary notices, and separation agreements.
- Ensure all HR documentation aligns with labour laws, company policy, and evolving compliance needs.
- Maintain a centralized legal repository for easy retrieval and version control.
b. Client and Commercial Agreements
Create and maintain core legal contracts covering all Cache Labs products and services, such as:
- Deliverables Agreements defining client-facing deliverables, documents, support, and timelines linked to chosen plans.
- Payment & Installment Agreements covering upfront, installment (6/12-month) and subscription-based billing, with interest and compliance clauses.
- Main Service Agreements (MSA) governing scope of service delivery, roles, responsibilities, and liability disclaimers.
- Onboarding Agreements specifying client onboarding steps, required documents, timelines, and obligations.
- Separation & Termination Policies defining client exit, early termination, fees, and dispute resolution terms.
- Recurring Payment Agreements managing retainer and subscription relationships.
- Privacy Policies covering confidentiality, usage limitations, GDPR/data protection laws, and data-sharing consent.
- Data Security & Integrity Agreements ensuring data accuracy, backup, and adherence to integrity standards.
- Terms & Conditions (T&C) ensuring acceptance of technology/process support terms and client responsibility disclaimers.
- Attorney Partnership & Referral Agreements defining collaboration with partner attorneys, responsibilities, and liability boundaries.
- Dispute Resolution Agreements outlining arbitration, mediation, and conflict resolution procedures.
- Align all agreements with international standards (e.g., US Laws, GDPR, DPDP Act) and industry best practices.
c. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Indian and global data privacy regulations and emerging legal requirements.
- Conduct periodic legal audits and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend proactive solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact with external legal counsel for specialized matters and complex disputes.
d. Cross-Company and Strategic Legal Support
- Draft and review cross-company agreements, partnership contracts, and third-party vendor agreements.
- Support new brand and product launches by creating legally sound frameworks for operations, technology, and client onboarding.
- Provide internal teams (HR, Finance, Product, Operations) with legal guidance and training on contract execution and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: LL.B/LL.M from a recognized institution; active enrollment with a State Bar preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years in corporate law, contract management, or technology/start-up legal roles.
- Strong expertise in contract drafting, data privacy law (GDPR/Indian DPDP Act), and employment law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sharp negotiation abilities.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple complex agreements at scale
