Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our in-house legal team as a Senior Legal Associate. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in commercial contracts, litigation, real estate, intellectual property rights (IPR), project management – legal & compliance department, and people management with a strong background in managing legal affairs within corporate environments. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a collaborative mindset to support business operations and mitigate legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management & Negotiation

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor agreements, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing deals.
• Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation across all contractual engagements.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Oversee litigation matters, liaise with external counsel, and develop strategies for dispute resolution.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary. This includes appearance before various courts, labor offices and courts, etc.

Real Estate & Property Law

• Manage legal aspects of property acquisitions, leases, and development projects.
• Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance for real estate transactions.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

• Advise on IP strategy, protection, and enforcement.
• Handle trademark filings, copyright issues, and licensing agreements.

Legal Affairs & Governance

• Provide legal counsel to internal stakeholders across departments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on legal implications for business operations.

Reporting & Documentation (Project Management)

• Prepare and present legal reports, risk assessments, and compliance updates to senior management.
• Maintain organized records of legal documents and case files.

Leadership & Team Collaboration (People Management)

• Mentor junior legal staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) and/or CS preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in an in-house legal counsel role.
• Strong understanding of Indian legal frameworks and corporate law.
• Proven experience in commercial contracts, litigation, real estate, and IPR.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
• Strong leadership qualities and a team-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in preparing legal reports and presenting to senior leadership.
