Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Accountant to manage trust accounts, ensure compliance with legal accounting standards, and support the financial operations of our legal practice. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IOLTA accounting, trust ledger management, reconciliations, and proficiency in Clio and QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage IOLTA accounts and ensure full compliance with trust accounting regulations.

Maintain and update trust ledgers with accuracy and timeliness.

Perform three-way reconciliations of trust accounts regularly.

Handle invoicing to the state as required.

Utilize Clio for invoicing, time entries, and client account tracking.

Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for internal and client use.

Support audits and regulatory compliance reviews.

Manage accounting operations using QuickBooks, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and reporting.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in IOLTA accounting (mandatory).

Expertise in trust ledger management (mandatory).

Strong experience in three-way reconciliation of trust accounts (mandatory).

Experience with invoicing to the state (optional).

Proficiency in Clio for time entries and invoicing (mandatory).

Proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory).

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with legal and finance teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
