Role Overview

We are seeking a Learning Technologist / LMS Administrator to support and enhance online digital education delivery within GlobalU. This role sits within the Technology function and works closely with Academic, Content, Design, and IT teams to manage and support the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and associated digital learning tools.

This position is ideal for a motivated professional with hands-on exposure to Learning Management Systems who is keen to grow into a fully established Learning Technologist, contributing to high-quality digital learning experiences across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operation of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring system reliability and performance
  • Administer LMS users, courses, programme structures, and system-level configurations
  • Support course administrators and train new users on platform functionality and updates
  • Work collaboratively with Academic, Design, and Content teams to support digital course delivery
  • Run reports and analyse platform and course-level data to generate actionable insights
  • Act as an in-house expert on the LMS configuration and usage
  • Provide practical support for digital teaching and assessment tools (e.g., Turnitin, Zoom, online collaboration tools)
  • Respond to staff and student queries via the online helpdesk system
  • Provide first-line IT and LMS-related support and escalate issues where required
  • Liaise with local IT teams and coordinate with UK-based teams on system-related matters
  • Stay informed about platform upgrades, enhancements, and emerging educational technologies

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant experience in LMS administration, educational technology, or technology support roles
  • Familiarity with recognised e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM)
  • Basic understanding or exposure to HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, SQL, or similar technologies
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and develop professionally

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting digital learning environments in higher education
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Exposure to reporting, analytics, or data-driven platform optimisation

Eligibility to Work
