Position Summary
The Learning Platforms & Instructional Design Advisor is a hybrid role responsible for both the effective administration and governance of the organization's learning platform ecosystem, with primary responsibility for Skillsoft Percipio, and the design and development of engaging, performance-based learning experiences using Articulate Storyline and Rise 360. This position partners with HR, compliance, business leaders, HRIS, IT, and subject matter experts to translate needs into measurable learning outcomes, configure learning assignments and reporting, troubleshoot learner issues, and maintain reliable, audit-ready learning records.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Platform Administration (Skillsoft Percipio Ownership)
- Serve as the primary administrator for Skillsoft Percipio, including configuration, catalog management, user audiences/groups, assignments, learning paths, and day-to-day platform operations.
- Own platform governance standards, including publishing conventions, naming/version control practices, archiving, and quality checks to support a consistent learner experience.
- Configure and maintain user attributes and related platform settings to enable targeted learning assignments and audience-based learning delivery.
- Support learning platform access needs and resolve account, login, and permission issues.
- Partner with HRIS and IT teams to support integrations and user data flows, including identity and access requirements and single sign-on coordination.
- Monitor and resolve learner-impacting issues (access, content launch, completion status, catalog/search behavior), escalating to vendors or internal IT as needed.
- Maintain platform documentation and knowledge resources (admin guidance, FAQs, learner support content) to reduce support volume and improve self-service.
Reporting, Analytics, and Audit-Ready Outputs
- Produce and interpret recurring and ad hoc reports (completion status, overdue training, engagement trends), including outputs that support audit readiness and stakeholder decision-making.
- Support learning history data activities, including investigating exceptions and assisting with historical record import, reconciliation, or clean-up efforts.
- Translate platform reporting enhancements into practical reporting improvements and stakeholder-ready dashboards.
Compliance Assignment Operations and Exceptions Support
- Build and manage enterprise learning assignments for compliance and role-based development programs, including due dates, assignment rules, and campaign operations.
- Troubleshoot and support exceptions related to completion, credit/waiver behavior, and learner record questions, partnering with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Support program owners during launches and high-volume assignment periods to ensure timely delivery and completion tracking.
Instructional Design (eLearning Development)
- Conduct needs analyses to identify performance gaps, learner audiences, and required behavior change; recommend learning and non-learning solutions as appropriate.
- Design learning experiences aligned to adult learning principles, measurable learning objectives, and business outcomes.
- Develop interactive eLearning and microlearning using Articulate Storyline and Rise 360 (scenario-based learning, branching, knowledge checks, and assessments).
- Create and maintain learning assets including storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, job aids, quizzes, and knowledge articles.
- Apply accessibility and usability best practices (closed captions, readable layouts, keyboard navigation considerations, inclusive design).
- Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to manage review cycles, incorporate feedback, and deliver on time with high quality.
- Use data and learner feedback to iterate content and improve effectiveness (evaluation results, completion data, assessment performance, and engagement metrics).
- Maintain a consistent visual and instructional design standard across the learning portfolio (templates, style guides, interactions, and tone).
Stakeholder Partnership and Project Management
- Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously using clear scopes, timelines, risk tracking, and proactive stakeholder communications.
- Consult with leaders to define success measures and recommend learning strategies, modalities, and rollout plans.
- Coordinate pilot testing and launch communications to drive adoption and completion.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to resolve platform issues that affect learner experience and business timelines.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, Organizational Development, HR, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in learning platform administration and/or instructional design with demonstrated ability to operate in a blended role.
- Demonstrated expertise administering Skillsoft Percipio, including configuration, assignments, audiences/groups, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Rise 360 (portfolio samples required or available upon request).
- Experience supporting integrations and user access workflows (for example, single sign-on coordination and user provisioning processes).
- Demonstrated reporting and analytics skills, including turning learning platform data into actionable insights.
- Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills.
