Job Details:
We are seeking a strategic Lead UX Designer to drive the UX vision and design direction across multiple products and initiatives. You will lead a team of designers, establish design standards, and partner with product and technology leadership to deliver impactful user experiences.
This role focuses on defining UX strategy, scaling design systems in Figma, and ensuring consistent, high-quality experiences across B2B and enterprise product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- UX Strategy: Define UX vision, principles, and roadmaps in partnership with product and business leadership.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach UX designers across multiple projects, driving craft quality and consistency.
- Design Systems Ownership: Build, manage, and govern enterprise-scale Figma design systems (components, variables, tokens, modes, branching).
- AI-Driven Practices: Champion the use of AI tools within the design team to improve quality, speed, and innovation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to align on priorities, present design strategies, and influence decision-making.
- Execution Oversight: Review key design deliverables to ensure they meet usability, accessibility, and brand standards.
Must-Have Skills/Competencies:
- UX Leadership: Proven track record leading UX initiatives and teams for complex digital products.
- Figma Enterprise Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with Figma, especially in building and supervising enterprise design systems.
- AI Tools Proficiency: Deep understanding of how AI can be integrated into UX workflows at team scale.
- Systems Thinking: Ability to think in systems and patterns across journeys, products, and platforms.
- Data Visualization: Strong capability in designing analytics-heavy, data-rich experiences.
Must-Have Soft-Skills (IMPORTANT):
- Executive Communication: Able to present UX strategy and outcomes to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Influence & Alignment: Skilled at driving consensus across product, engineering, and business teams.
- People Leadership: Experience mentoring designers and building a healthy, high-performing design culture.
- Narrative Storytelling: Ability to craft compelling narratives around user problems, solutions, and impact.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience Level: Minimum 12+ years of experience in UX/UI design with at least 4 years in a lead role (supported by portfolio).
- Industry Focus: Experience in EdTech projects is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- AI Projects: Significant experience designing AI/ML-driven products or features is a strong bonus.
- B2B & Enterprise: Extensive experience designing for B2B and enterprise applications across web and mobile.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio with strategic and end-to-end case studies, including examples of design systems and team leadership.
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's or Master's in Design (B.Des, M.Des, or similar) required. Certifications from HFI, Google, IIT, or similar institutions are an advantage.
