Equipped with world-class infrastructure, including 3-Tesla MRI and OPM MEG systems, we bridge the gap between academic innovation and commercial application.
Role
We are seeking a senior technical leader to manage the unit, drive growth, and ensure operational excellence. Balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day operations, you will oversee the seamless functionality of cutting-edge research equipment while leading and managing a specialist technical team.

- Infrastructure: Manage the lifecycle of MEG, MRI, and TMS systems, including procurement and maintenance.
- Compliance: Act as the primary authority for IRMER, CQC, GCP, and H&S standards.
- Commercial: Lead financial operations, manage substantial budgets, and act as the primary liaison for industrial partners.
- Leadership: Contribute to the YNiC Management Committee and Technical Leadership Team while building a robust external professional network.
- Leadership: Manage a team of technical specialists with a dual focus on current role proficiency and future career aspirations, ensuring individual development supports the centre's future plans.
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive management style and relevant expertise to ensure YNiC remains a safe, fit-for-purpose, and commercially viable environment for pioneering research.
Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed
- Expert technical knowledge of specialist imaging and stimulation systems: MEG, MRI, and TMS, with a proven ability to lead software and hardware development for research analysis.
