We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer
You'll make a difference by:
Overall expectations:Leading the end-to-end technical architecture for high-throughput data ingestion (Go), stream processing (Apache Flink), time-series storage (TimescaleDB), data reports (PostgreSQL) and real-time visualization (React + D3.js)Driving architectural decisions, technology choices, and establishing engineering best practices for microservices developmentLeading and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of backend engineers, stream processing specialists, frontend developers, and DevOps engineersEnsuring system meets stringent performance requirements: <1 second latency, 10,000+ msg/sec throughput, 99.9% availability
Mandatory Skills:Led a fullstack development team with high-performance backend services, socket programming, and concurrent systemsExpert level proficiency in at least one of GoLang, Java, NodeJSStrong hands-on experience with at least one of the frontend technologies like Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript and data visualization libraries (like D3.js)Advanced SQL and database design with expertise in PostgreSQL and if possible, time-series databases (TimescaleDB/InfluxDB)Know-how of Apache Kafka including topic design, partitioning strategies, consumer groups, and fault toleranceExperience with microservices architecture, event-driven architectures, and API design (RESTful, WebSockets)Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts including consistency, availability, partition toleranceExperience with CI/CD pipelines (any of Jenkins, GitLab CI), automated testing, and DevOps practicesHands-on experience with Linux system administration, networking, and on-premise infrastructure deploymentNice to Have Skills:Hands-on experience with stream processing frameworks (Apache Flink, Kafka Streams) for real-time data pipelinesProduction experience with Kubernetes including deployment patterns, service mesh, monitoring, and troubleshootingExperience in safety-critical systems (railway, aerospace, medical devices) with knowledge of safety standardsUnderstanding of railway operations, signaling systems, interlocking logic, or train control systemsFamiliarity with real-time monitoring systemsKnowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) for production monitoringUnderstanding of security best practices including authentication (OAuth2, JWT), encryption, and threat modelingExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and technical leadership in multi-phase projectsDesired Skills:10+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership5+ years leading distributed system architecture and microservices developmentBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fieldExcellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills with data-driven approach to technical tradeoffsProven ability to lead technical teams through complex projects with aggressive timelinesMentorship mindset with passion for developing engineering talent and building high-performing teams
