Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Embedded Hardware Design Technical Lead to manage and deliver cutting-edge hardware design and development for embedded products. The ideal candidate will lead Embedded Hardware Design projects, a team of engineers, mentor junior members, interface with vendors and third parties, and drive continuous improvement in design processes and practices.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely hardware development across diverse embedded domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end embedded hardware design and development projects.
- Mentor, guide, and monitor the work of the hardware engineering team, ensuring design quality and adherence to project timelines.
- Develop and review electrical circuit schematics and support PCB layout design in collaboration with layout engineers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (software, sourcing, mechanical, testing, manufacturing, marketing) to optimize design and ensure smooth integration.
- Drive and participate in design reviews, DFMEA/FMEA, and root cause analysis for design and field issues.
- Interface with internal and external vendors, manufacturing partners, and third-party design houses for prototype, testing, and production activities.
- Define and implement best design practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support board bring-up, validation, pre-compliance and compliance testing (EMI/EMC, safety, etc.).
- Contribute to the test strategy and production validation, ensuring robust and manufacturable designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety-critical requirements (UL, IEC, CE, etc.).
- Experienced in implementing secure development methodologies, ensuring robust protection of sensitive data and systems integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, or Power Electronics.
Experience Requirements
- 712 years of experience in embedded hardware development, including circuit design, analysis, and verification.
- Proven experience with microcontrollers, mixed-signal components, motor control, and AC-DC power conversion.
- Hands-on experience in schematic capture, PCB design, and board-level debugging.
- Strong understanding of power management, low-power design, and signal integrity concepts.
- Experience in vendor management, customer communication, and project coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, plan workloads, and deliver projects within timelines.
Preferred Skills & Expertise
- Strong expertise in Analog and digital circuit design, including MCU-based systems (Microchip, NXP, Renesas, STMicroelectronics, TI).
- Knowledge of motor control electronics (BLDC, PMSM, induction motors) and power electronics.
- Experience with Altium Designer / Cadence for schematic entry, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and compliance testing.
- Familiarity with product validation, manufacturing processes, and test automation setups.
- Exposure to mechanical design collaboration, CAD models, and plastic moulding/materials is desirable.
- Prior experience in process improvement, design documentation, and configuration control is an added advantage.
