Key Responsibilities
- Working with the team across geography in developing and enhancing our Android Mobile app.
- Helping junior team members with their technical roadblocks and helping the team to succeed.

- Ensuring the code meets the industry standards and aware of Industry best practices.

Role Summary
Our mobile app (Virgin Atlantic Mobile App) helps make travelling easier by providing options such as booking a ticket or checking in to a flight and use our reminder and notification services. As a part of the Android App team, you will be empowering users, customer journey, and driving content as a service offering throughout the organization.
As a Lead Android Developer at DTH Virgin Atlantic Digital team, you will be responsible for developing the Virgin Atlantic Airlines Android mobile app alongside our global team based out of UK and India. As a lead developer, you are expected to help the developers and senior developers with your technical expertise and also mentor them.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- 7+ years of experience in Mobile technologies such as Android SDK, Jetpack, Java, Kotlin.
- Expertise in design patterns and cloud native technologies is desired.
- Excellent understanding of development practices across the Development/QA discipline is required.
- Excellent knowledge of Software Development Involves knowing the general approach to developing software including best practices, concepts, technology, and methodology obtained through formal training and / or work experience.
- Test Driven Development
- Quality forward development practices, with automation at forefront for continuous quality
- High performing apps focused on a balance of data stored in app vs servers to interact for end consumers, and continuous focus on improvement of that
- Secure apps that adhere to best practices for information security
- Ability to lead and open to share ideas and best practices that you have gained through experience.
- Good knowledge of Cloud Technology such as AWS/Azure
