Job Overview:

We are seeking a Support Engineer, Customer Support with knowledge of L&AH Insurance domain for North American L&AH product line.You will have expertise in software development using Java-based technologies to provide technical support. In this role, you will work closely with our customers, Business Analysts, QA testers, and other technical teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve technical problems, and develop high-quality, scalable features using Java.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers and end-users for our software and web applications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and resolve in a timely and satisfactory manner (including providing workarounds, data patches, etc)
  • Development of a code / module based on the specifications given.
  • Design, Develop, enhance, debug, and implement software.
  • Work on Configuration and script changes as required.
  • Develop technical and user documentation as needed.
  • Interacting with the internal stakeholders (Interface Analyst, BAs, Architect), client and team members
  • Implement integration between product and other external systems. Design, Develop, enhance, debug, and implement external interfaces and batches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Participate in Agile software development methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Document technical solutions and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Develop technical and user documentation as needed.

Qualifications and Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development using Java-based technologies.
  • Core JAVA, Proficiency in DB/ SQL, XML/ XSLT
  • Desirable skills - Spring Framework/ Spring Batch, Web Services, REST API, ReactJS, Tomcat/JBOSS, Instana, GIT
  • Hibernate, Testing Tools
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, outcome focused - Ownership of configuration designs, configuration implementation, and component test execution to demonstrate alignment to the functional & non-functional requirements.
  • Innovative mindset to suggest how more of the changes can be implemented through configuration rather than application changes.
  • First-time-right Quality mindset, prefers to automate over doing same tasks manually, strives for delivering the best customer experience, ambitious and growth mindset.
  • Knowledge and working experience of agile methodology is mandatory.
  • Experience and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Development practices and processes.
  • Experience of working in Production Support role.
  • Experience in developing and supporting of Insurance services products - Group Insurance with Claims and/or Billing knowledge will be added advantage.
  • Insurance certification.
