Job Overview:
Acts as a Senior Quality Assurance team member and supports the QA vision to deliver consistent and value-added testing solutions that align with business needs/goals. Adheres to QA standards and develops test strategies, crafts test deliverables, performs hands-on testing and ensures robust repeatable, maintainable, regression suite. Collaborates with technical and business teams and communicates risks and issues to ensure high quality solutions. Stays updated and recommends best industry practices to improve overall QA processes and enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Participate in project analysis, design, and testing phases and create test plan and strategy
- Review and re-evaluate test strategy to adjust new information, changing risks, shifting priorities, and schedules
- Review project requirements to ensure Definition of Ready and Definition of Done are adhered to and provide feedback to stakeholders
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases. Types of testing include system, integration, regression, data/test-driven, and end-to-end testing
- Work with onsite and offshore QA team members to plan, prioritize and manage testing tasks and deliverables
- Support and facilitate User acceptance testing
- Run effective defect management and collaborate with business partners, internal and/or external implementation partners on issues, root cause analysis and track defects to closure.
- Document results; provide test metrics of overall product quality to certify solution meets approved requirements
- Monitor project status and coordinate project deliverables, including adjusting test schedules, organizing meetings, supporting testing and delivering the test reports
- Be accountable for delivering high-quality solutions with ability to test complex initiatives
- Deliver timely, content relevant communication status updates to key stakeholders
- Work with automation team to review, optimize and enhance regression test suites
- Create relevant test data sets and coordinate test automation execution
- Be the ambassador of agile and quality in all aspects of the project
- Share knowledge and provide training assistance to QA team members to drive quality results and desired business outcomes
- Actively participate to continuously improve QA standards, identify emerging technologies, and evaluate their applicability to business goals
Calypso Must have skills
- Calypso experience, ideally v17 onwards
- Capital Markets experience
- Specific Product areas:
- Swaps familiar with the term, conceptually knows what a swap is
- Fixed income / debt instruments familiar with Bonds /Repos
- Operational areas:
- Front Office: trade entry and booking
- Back Office: trade settlements, accounting operations, positions, liquidation
Skills and Requirements
- Experience working with Safe Agile/Scrum methodology
- Knowledge of TDD (Test Driven Development)
- Working knowledge of complex SQL is required.
- Experience with industry standard testing and defect management tools (e.g. ALM, JIRA, Confluence)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify root cause of complex issues required
- Strong time management skills and ability to juggle priorities with a history of meeting commitments
- Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform on high visibility initiatives and prove a direct positive impact on customer experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and build trusted relationships with team members, customers, and technical partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7 years of software quality assurance experience in agile development environments in a large, regulated financial services (preferably banking) environment is required. 5 years of Calypso QA experience is a must.
