Lead Python Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Python Developer based in India.

This remote role offers the opportunity to lead the development of scalable, cloud-based applications using Python and modern application frameworks.

You will translate high-level architectural concepts into detailed technical designs and production-ready application components.

The position combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership, code reviews, and guidance for other engineers.

You will work across UI, application and integration, and database layers while building solutions with Python, FastAPI, and Databricks Apps.

The role also involves designing applications that support multi-tenancy, isolation, and reliable database integration.

You will collaborate closely with architects and developers to resolve technical challenges and ensure implementation aligns with the overall solution architecture.

It is an opportunity for an experienced Python engineer to take ownership of core components while contributing to modern cloud application development.

Accountabilities

• Translate high-level architecture, modules, and technical direction into detailed designs and implementable engineering requirements.
• Lead the development of Python-based applications, taking ownership of selected core components.
• Design and develop scalable applications using Python and FastAPI.
• Build, integrate, and deploy applications through Databricks Apps.
• Develop solutions across the full application stack, including UI, application and integration layers, and databases.
• Break architectural designs into modules and clearly define implementation requirements for engineering team members.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to developers throughout implementation.
• Review developer implementations to ensure alignment with established architecture, technical designs, and engineering standards.
• Design and implement PostgreSQL database integrations and develop efficient SQL solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and other technical stakeholders to identify and resolve design and implementation challenges.
• Ensure applications adhere to multi-tenant architecture and data or resource isolation principles.
• Contribute to reliable, maintainable, and scalable cloud-based application solutions.
  
  

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Python.
• Extensive experience designing and developing Python-based applications using FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks Apps and application deployment within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Strong full-stack development background with experience across UI, application/integration, and database layers.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and database integration.
• Advanced SQL skills and practical experience designing data-driven application components.
• Proven ability to translate high-level solution architecture into detailed technical designs and production-ready implementations.
• Understanding of multi-tenant application architecture, isolation principles, and scalable application design.
• Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to provide direction, review implementations, and support other developers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to code quality, architecture, and maintainability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with solution architects, developers, and other technical stakeholders.
• Experience deploying Python applications in cloud environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with Streamlit, Django, Azure, Azure Databricks, AKS, or Azure App Service is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote engineering environment.
