Overview

The Services Access program is Mastercard's platform for unlocking seamless access to value-added services across all transaction typesswitched, non-switched, on-us, and non-Mastercard branded.

Transaction Services Interface enables access integration, parallel fulfillment, and service aggregation for switched transactions.

Role

Overview

Responsible for developing inspiring platform/product visions, derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends

Using the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap

Works with Product Development, Portfolio Product Managers & Architects to support defining the product roadmap & requirements.

Works with Technical Program Managers, Developers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements.

Ability to collaborate cross teams within the program as well as across Mastercard as needed to work as one team towards the common objective.

Collects and shares user stories with engineering teams.

Acts as the voice of the business customer and accountable for the platform services

Owns the working backwards document and vision for feature releases

Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Gather and prioritize requirements from customers, stakeholders, and market research.

Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for engineering teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, design, development & testing) to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.

Understand the product vision and ensure development aligns with that vision. Work closely with architects and product teams to define clear, detailed requirements.

Act as the subject matter expert for technical aspects of the product.

Understand multiple products within the portfolio and provide support across them simultaneously.

Ability to understand and follow security, scalability, and performance standards.

Understand and incorporate performance aspects and logging standards during development to ensure scalable, reliable, and robust application development.

Identifies Gaps And Charters New Platform Capabilities As Required

Makes use of research, user studies, metrics and competitive analysis to understand the platform and business needs for a platform product

Compares features for competitive review to inform prioritization within a platform product release

Identifies innovations or performs test and learn experiments to create features that add more business and customer value for a platform product

Participates with the business in customer research to inform platform product feature needs

Contributes near-term input (quarterly) for the platform product portfolio and roadmap

Determines release goals for the platform and prioritizes assigned features according to business and platform value, adjusting throughout implementation as needed

Continuously monitors feature development at the feature level

Reviews product demo with the development team against acceptance criteria for the feature set

Prepares launches and monitors platform performances, adoption, and operational health for feature sets

Identifies issues that will keep the platform features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicates to leadership

Supports and participates in post-launch reviews and ensures feedback is reincorporated into the feature

Develops and implements new metrics into measurement techniques; works with development teams to develop reports to monitor them

Independently identifies and researches anomalous performance; escalates findings to senior management

Coordinates internal forums to collect and identify feature-level development opportunities

Identifies feature risks from business and customer feedback and in-depth analysis of operational performance; shares with senior leadership

Establishes a network within the organization; begins to build internal and external networks

All About You And What You Need To Bring:

  • 3+ years of product management or new product development and experience shipping high-quality products in the payments industry. Understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases.
  • Experience in Lean Product management and Lean management principles and practices. Can deliver high-quality technology products/services in a high-growth environment where priorities shift rapidly.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Comprehensive experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.), CI/CD, and modern DevOps-based PDLC and SDLC. Technical savviness to enable TDD and BDD.
  • Track record of successful delivery of product features from design, development, deployment, and customer integration.
  • Proficient at grooming user stories, features, and epics, setting entrance/exit criteria and prioritizing a platform product backlog.
  • Data driven ability to define measurable and SMART leading and lagging metrics for all backlog items to enable decisions and priority.
  • Take the time to fully learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems supporting your platform products. This includes the business requirements and associated use cases, Mastercard customer's experience, Mastercard's back-office systems, the technical stack (application/service architecture), interfaces and associated data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations (i.e., trouble management/associated support strategies), and maintenance.
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts globally- across multiple regions. Recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them.
  • Ability to engage with numerous stakeholders on existing product capabilities and potential co-development opportunities or dependencies.
  • Experience leading and managing others through both direct manager relationships and through influence.
  • Action oriented & hands-on: Owns outcomes & deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Creative, fun, self-motivated individual
